The WorldWideTrails are designed to be navigated by a GPS enabled device – either a purpose built GPS receiver such as a Garmin or a GPS enabled device such as an iOS or Android device.

NAVIGATION DEVICES

First you have to decide whether you want to use a GPS device or a smartphone as a navigation device. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

If you choose a phone for your navigation, you’ll need a navigation app.

Here you will find an overview of possible devices and apps for each smartphone:

GPS Devices:

Garmin Zumo

TomTom Rider

Apple iPhone

Android phone

WWT TRACKS

The WWT is provided in the form of GPX tracks. You can download them in the upper right corner of each detailed trail map.

Once you’re out on the trail you’ll notice that GPX files don’t detail everything.  Use your common sense! Follow the trail you see on the ground in front of your wheels. If there’s a sign or barrier in front of you banning entry respect the sign or gate. After you’ve found an alternative route please send it to us and we will update the GPX track.
